COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

We hope to be able to start offering Covid-19 vaccinations next week, probably between Tuesday 15th December and Friday 18th December. Vaccinations will take place over these 3-4 days depending on the delivery, as the vaccine cannot be stored for longer than this.

The vaccine programme will commence for patients registered with five GP practices in North Cotswolds. The first group of patients who will receive the vaccine are the 80 years and over age group. If you live with someone who is not yet 80, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer them the vaccine until their age group is called.

The course of two vaccinations will be given in a booked appointment only clinic in our North Cotswold GP Vaccination Centre at North Cotswold Hospital, Stow Road Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, GL56 0DS.

If you are aged 80 years or over, you will be contacted with details of how to book your appointment, later this week. This contact may be by text message if you have a mobile phone, by telephone or by letter.

To be fully vaccinated, you will need to have two injections, at least 3 weeks apart. When you book your appointment you will be asked to book for both Vaccination 1 and Vaccination 2.

Please respond as soon as you receive your communication to ensure you secure your two appointments as there is a limited time frame for these vaccines to be delivered.

We hope that our patients will be able to arrange a lift from family or friends and not drive themselves to the vaccination centre. However, if you have difficulty getting to North Cotswold Hospital in Moreton-in-Marsh, please contact Cotswold Friends to arrange for a volunteer driver to collect you. The telephone number is 01608 651415 9:30 to 15:30 Monday to Friday.

If you are unable to leave your house, we will be able to send someone round to give you the vaccination, but unfortunately, this may not be until January time.

For further information about the Covid-19 vaccine, please view Public Health England leaflet and the website below:

The programme will extend to other age groups in due course and will be dependent on vaccine supplies and delivery dates. We will contact patients in each age group when appointments become available to book.
