Carers

The GP Partners at Mann Cottage surgery are aware that the responsibilities and duties of caring for someone can be stressful and, at times, detrimental to the health and well being of the carer.

Are you a Carer?

A carer is someone of any age who looks after and provides unpaid support to a friend, relative or neighbour who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness or disability.

We hold a Carer’s Register – please help us to keep this up to date. If you are a carer download and complete the Carers Registration Form.

Are you an adult Carer with someone at home or in the neighbourhood who depends on you to help with everyday living?

Are you a young Carer? Are you looking after a parent? Don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends or relatives, you can also ask Teachers, Social Workers, Doctors and Nurses for help and advice.

Telling your GP can help make sure you get the support and care you need.

If you want your GP to know that you are a Carer please submit a Carers’ Registration form for your records to be updated.

See our Useful Contacts page for other services and useful contact numbers.

Reception staff can give you information sheets with helpful telephone contact numbers.

If you need any help making phone calls or accessing care websites for carer information a named member of the Reception team will assist you.
